I have a friend who wants his mulie antlers switched on a mulie thats all ready mounted. The hide was sent out for tanning.Would this be a tough job, or would it be better to get another cape? Thanks for all your help everyone, and all who have helped me become a better taxidermist

It's actually a very simple job.
flip the mount upside down in a container (trashcan works good) fill with water to the top eyebrow, and soak for a couple hours.
your skin should be rehydrated and it is a simple matter to cut the seam open to remove the antlers.

Cut the replacement antlers to fit in the position of the cape, and trim the burr area if necessary.(usually not) sew it back up and re position the ears if needed.

thats it.
