How to get life like ears?

Submitted by JD on 4/2/01. ( ) 63.86.107.226

Ok, I'm not happy with the way the ears turn out when I'm done they look fake! What can I do to get them to look life like, I'm talking color. Should I paint the ear liner first? What is some of the steps you pro's use. Yes I'm a beginner and willing to learn anything and everything about taxidermy. Help please I strive for the highest quality I can in all my work and this ear thing just has me beat. All input is welcomed on any and all animals.
