O.K. guys, this is probably a no-brainer, but I have 3 deer back hides and 21 rabbit hides that I want to cut up into about 2"x 2" pieces once they are tanned. Any easy method that avoids cutting off a lot of loose hair?
I feel kinda dumb even asking this one, but after using the wire wheel on the pickled rabbit hides till 1 this morning, then realizing on the second to last hides that the damned membrane peeled off easier than taking 45 minutes to shave off REALLY made me feel dumb,so here's how I figured it might be easier to chop up the finished hides.... thought I'd take two straight edges to push the hair off to the right and left and "clear the field" for my blade. I was hoping to avoid cutting a lot of hair this way...any different ideas? Thanks, boy I'll be glad when this project is done!

Hi,
Simply use a rasor blade and cut from the skin side, this is how all fur coats are cut up.
