Bobcat forms

Bob,
Is this the nose to base of tail on the carcass? If is is you've got
a pretty large 'cat. Van Dyke's has a lynx form that is 39-1/2 but the rest of the measurements are way too big.(Possibly a change out bobcat head on this form and shorten the legs - still requires modification to make it more 'bobcat'). McKenzie has one 37, WASCO shows one of 36, Touchstone has one of 37-1/2 and Noonkester has one of 35. You'll have to check them out for the pose. You may want to carcass cast this monster if you still have the carcass or take measurements from it to alter (enlarge) one of the above or similar sized forms. If you don't have the carcass, just remember to increase the legs (length between joints, girth), body circumferences at several locations, neck, head width and length, etc, based on the percent of increase you make to the nose-to-base of tail measurement. Good luck with this 'cat.

Just curious, what state was this monster harvested? I know of a personal friend in N.W. Alabama that harvested a very large cat this past deer season. Was lucky enough to get a good look at it that morning. Just wondered if it could be the same cat? Thanks, Chuck B.

How are you measuring?

Bob,
Are these measurments off the original carcass? If not, I suggest that you go back and re-measure. You could have made a mistake if only measuring the hide by over stretching it's length after re-hydrating. The length and girth measurements don't seem to match up. Try laying it out and then gently stretch the width but not the length and then take your measurements again.

If that cat gets smaller every time you measure, you wont be able to find a form SMALL enough! lmao
