I recently shot a weasal and upon approaching it I noticed that it had worms crawling on it most likley from the inside but Im not completly sure, regardless will they create a problem in mounting it, did they damage the hide in any way. When I start to work on the specimen will I encouter any problems with the skin.I appreciate any information on the topic. Warbles

Are a defect in leather seen as small pinholes or as tiny scars. Warbles are caused by the larvae of the grub or warble fly (family
Oestridae), which develop under the skin of the animal and emerge in the area of the backbone. If the animal is slaughtered
before the wounds heal, the defect is known as "open warbles," while if sufficient time elapses for the animal to develop scar
tissue, they are then called closed or "blind warbles." In either case leather produced from a warbled hide is unsatisfactory in
both strength and appearance.

You SHOT a WEASEL?

You must be able to split whiskers with a razor blade. Good aim.

Now that's good sportsmanship .. not many people could shoot a running weasel.

My tanning agents are here, I am off to tan the mice!
