I just found my critter clay and it was dried up hard as a rock. Is there anyway to save it?

if you will brake it up into small pieces and set it over night in water it will soak-up the water and you can reuse it. I thought I was the only one that left it out and let it dry up , it will work fine hope that helps ,Steve
One other thing you can do to prevent it drying is make sure its totally sealed in a bag & mist it with water.
Like Steve said. the process of rehydrating clay is called "slaking". Here's how: Soak the clay parts in water until they are thoroughly saturated and can be formed into a ball. Slam the ball repeatedly against a wooden surface to wedge it and get out as much air as possible. During the slamming you can slice the ball into portions and reasemble if you desire. The wood will soak excess water out of the clay. After you feel that all air pockets are gone, knead the clay on the wooden board until it is the consistancy you desire. Place it into a ziploc bag and that bag inside another. Wrapping the clay ball with a damp cheese cloth will also prevent surface leaching. Place the ziploc bagged clay into a tupperware container with a tight lid and that is that. No need to freeze or refrigerate if the container is air tight.
I didn't read anything that Steve said about slamming ANYTHING. Didn't he just say to rehydrate the clay? lol
And yes...Cur...one doesn't want air pockets!
