We've stressed it here several times that you can't have TOO MANY CATALOGS. It is imperative that you keep current catalogs from the major suppliers on hand if you plan on being a taxidermist. There are reams upon reams of information in the catalogs. If you can't learn it by osmosis, most suppliers sell specific books, tapes, and pamphlets to explain explicit procedures. Many of the chemicals and tools have narratives that describe methods while many catalogs have actual pictures of processes you can use. All have instructions how to measure an animal and, by implication, will tell you how to skin it in many instances.
Go to the top of this page and click on "Taxidermy Net Home". WASCO has done the unheard of by even listing their competitors. Get the phone numbers (most are even toll free) and ask for a catalog. They would appreciate your business as well, but they know you'll use it to shop around for the best buy for your money. You can never have too many catalogs.

flip through Breakthrough or Taxidermy Today [same adds] and jot down Aall the suppliers numbers, make a cup of coffee, sit dowm and call every one of them requesting a catolog. George couldn't have been more correct.....get them all. It can only make your life easier.
The catalogs really do have some great techniques as well as seeing and reading about all the products. You can even look at the different mannikins and tell immediately which ones you don't want.
Research Mannikins has been slowlt putting out a small newsletter(more like a booklet) that contains a few tips,articles by Stephan Savides to name one.As you get on their mailing list ,they will most likely keep sending you more and suplements when they are printed.Also ,if you find you prefer one catalog (company) over the others for general supplies,you get to know the operators pretty much and once they realize you order from them often,they can be pretty helpful when you know what you need but just can't find it.I'm speaking of WASCO-thanks Sonya.By the way if you have not received or asked for the new WASCO catalog,it is FULL of great new products.
