I think I have made the releif for the lip too wide on the form. Is there anything I can to to repair this so the lips get tucked in tight and locked down?

I appoligize, it's a deer form.
I have put a roll of clay in the slot just prior to tucking the lip.
Also you can rebuild the lip on the form with 2 part sculpting epoxy.
Not much you can't fix with a little imagination.
Good luck

If the form is urethane foam, use a thin piece of balsa or bass wood to reduce the width of the cut. Apply a generous amount of carpenter's glue to one side or the other, (top or bottom)shove it into the cut and wedge with tongue depressors. Matter of fact, tongue depressors would work. After glue has set, tuck as you normally would.
As th others have stated, sculpall is the body shop equivelent of bondo. There is not much you cannot fix with it!LOL

I always keep extra foam around to modify some of my forms. Cut a piece of foam and hot glue it into place. Rasp it down and recut your mouth to desired fit.
Pack the lip slot full of appoxie sculpt just before you mount then stuff the lip up in the appoxy and when it kicks it will hold your lips.
The proper etiquette of lip service. One can not seal this mouth...so quit trying! LOL
Would Epoxy Clay have the same results as Epoxy Sculpt?
Epoxy clay should work but probably wont set as fast so keep checking and pushing the lips up till it is dry.
You failed to mention how wide the slot is. I use a chain saw sharpening bit in a dremel tool, it's 3/16 inch. You don't want your deer to look like they are sucking on a lemon.
