Anyone in the North Georgia Area?

Submitted by Jason on 8/10/01. ( jasondennis@alltel.net ) 12.146.131.5

Is there any of you experts or novices in the North Georgia Area willing to let me watch you work one day or for a few hours. I wish I could afford to take a formal class. I've seen a few videos and read some books from the library but I just don't feel comfortable and would like watch someone work on a fish or deer.

Thanks,
Jason

In what part of N. GA are you located? Try contacting the Georgia Taxidermists Assn. from the link on the first page of this site.

Hey Jason,
Purchase a John Rinehart skinning and tanning video and professional mounting video. He shows you step by step. Thats how I got started and have won some competitions with my deer heads. Rinehart has a website. GOOD LUCK!

Dean Gooch

Check the Dahlonega phone book to see if Dean Gooch still lives in the Dahlonega area. He was in a similar situation as you years ago when I lived in Gainesville. He may be able to help you. Hope this helps, however, please don't do like another Gainesville person/taxidermist who came to my shop and talked with me one day and went into business proclaiming that I had taught him everything I knew......not so!
