degreasing goat

getting ready to flesh a domestic goat for a rug do i need to degrease this hide or is it like a deer and do not need to worry about it.

Degrease it!

Not because its greasy or fatty - but because they usually have an odor! By degreasing, you will reduce it significently! I definately recommend using a good degreasing agent on it!

What Mr Rittel did not mention in his response is the fact that "Super Safety Solvent", a Rittel Product, is one of the best Degreasers out there. It will do a geat job on your goat as I'm in total agreement with Mr. Rittel, You should degrease the hide.Sheep and goats have a tendency to have a foul, musk oder to them and a good degreaser/eliminator will definately reduce this odor almost, if not totally! Many Supply Co.'s out there, including VanDyke's offer this product.
