I need to know who to get in touch with to get proper licensing to start
my own buisness. I will be doing only deer to start with. Do I need
to be licensed to do deer? Should I get in touch with the CO in my area.
How do I get a tax ID number so the state gets it's portion? I have
checked the archives and Dnr home page and have found nothing. Any
help would be appreciated.

Good luck to you!
These same people will be glad to direct you to the ones who will issue you a state ID tax # to collect your money in the future. Same building, couple doors down. Too, contact your local CO and schmooz. They like to know you are on the up and up.
Check with an accountant. You shouldn't need a tax i.d. number. You're offering a service and not retailing the raw materials or making a profit off of them. You're making money on the service you're offering which falls under personal income. That's how my accountant explained it me here in Missouri. Minnesota may be different but it is worth the time of a phone call.
