I was told by local hobby shop owner that they stock a tanning kit for hair bearing animals and that the kit should also work for tanning rattlesnake skins. Is this correct, or is there a specific kit for snake skins. This skin was removed from the snake only several hours ago. I cleaned it really good , put it in a locktype baggie and stored it in the refrigerator. How long will the skin keep that way. If i need to get a specific type of kit,Where do I GET IT?.
yes there is a specific tan for reptiles. You can order a snake tan kit from most suppliers. They can be found on the home page. First thing you should do though is to put your snake skin in the freezer. Also make sure it is sealed tight in a good plastic bag. Hope this helps
Sorry Roland - but I tried to send you some info on tanning Snakeskins into real leather, and your E-Mail address (above) doesn't go anywhere. Check out our website at: http://Rittelsupplies.net
We list our Snakeskin tanning Kit as Catalog #SSK-10
