I'm 12 years old and very new to Taxidermy and I found some old Air brush equipment at a yardsale. Paasche H1. The air brush works - sort of. It wont start spraying paint (I am using lifetone) until I open it almost all the way up. Then I turn it down and when I start spraying again I have to open it up again and turn down. Anybody know what the problem could be?

Remove the small set screw and take the color adjusting part (2 separate pieces that screw together) off. Then take the air cup off the front (remove the small rubber o-ring and set it out of the way), and then take your mixing cup or paint jar head and put them in a container of lacquer thinner overnight. Next day, using nitrile gloves, take a pipe cleaner or a ceramic spooly brush and clean the internal parts of these pieces. Once clean, put a small smear of vaseline on the threaded color adjusting part and reassemble the gun. It should work well.
If what MR Roof tells you to do you are not successful send it to me and I will try to fix it for you . what george is telling you should work if the problem is in the airbrush.
