I am mounting my first fawn. The form is laying down with the feet under him but showing on the side.On the form the back legs are cut off below the hip but the front legs are formed into the form. How do I put the hide on the front legs and stomach? Also the legs are longer than the form legs? On a deer this small do I have to use a earliner? If so how do I open them without ripping? Some of the lip skin is very short, any suggestions? Thanks

K,on a W/T fawn measurements are very important befor the animal is skined. With that said, cut the form in half use a v cut so it will fit back properly. This way you can get the skin on one half at a time.If the legs are just a few inces longer than the form you can make a cut behind the shoulder to acomodate the extra skin.If your lip skin is short make your lip slot tight and glue and pin in place. As for the ears, turn off the tv and take the phone off the hook, now you are ready to turn the ears by hand only, you have to be very carefull and go slow.I would recommend very thin bondo instead of ear liners .As for the back leggs since it wont be seen, you can make an incesion from the hoof to the elbo and insert your leggs.
