I found a complete skull and antlers from a big moose, a number of years ago. I have protected it from mice and rotting etc, but there is still some very dry meat etc on the skull. What do I have to do? I read about boiling it in dish soap, others in sodium carbonate, but I want to be sure. Last thing I want is the thing to fall apart after keeping it all these years. Also, any thoughts on how to mount?
Thanks

I would try the safest thing to do at this point is just to soak it in water for a while. Pull it out every 1/2 hour or so and see how soft the meat is-then try pulling it off.
The water is not going to hurt it. Try soaking it for at least a couple of hours. Bubba
