Hand Painting fish?

I was wonder how feasible is it to hand paint fish. I have a few rainbow trout that I caught this summer and mounted but I haven't yet painted them. With the use of thinner, I think it would be fairly easy to blend light coates of paint. I have mounted a couple of fish but haven't yet painted any because I've been adding up the cost of Airbrushes, compressor, hoses, paint & etc. comes up to a lot of money.

If anybody else ever thinks they can learn taxidermy and do it yourself to save money will be in for the same suprise as me.

I still do a bit of hand painting on each fish, yes even customers fish. An airbrush is not really needed for a few fish, but it does help. Seal it with shellac, then use WINDORS- NEWTON Artist oils, any art store should have a color wheel for about $14.95 that will help you too. DICKBLICK artist supplie carries many good items, the pearls and irredecence colors for WASCO. Hobby lobby etc. may have many things that will work for you too.

some are the best at it
