1.Put the rabbit in a small cage.
2.Put the cage and rabbit in a garbage bag.
3.Tape a plastic pipe into the opening of the bag and tape the opening
around the pipe so its sealed.
4.Rip a small hole in the other end of the bag.
5.Start your car.
6.Put the plastic pipe around the exhaust.
7.The bunny will be dead within a minute or so but I would leave it on for
a good 5 minutes.
This is a very humane way to dispatch of any living creature.
Just invite it over to my ex-wifes house for dinner!
The first bit will kill it deader than a door knob!
But I would use the exaust idea....its much more Humane than my idea!
I use chloroform to kill rabbits birds or anything else that I don't want to shoot. I buy it from the drug store although I do have to sign for it, in N.Y. anyway.
I probably spelled it wrong but you get the idea.

...I tried it on a duck years ago, when I took my first stab at taxidermy; my cousin had obtained this domestic duck for me to practise on and I tried to kill it with the garbage bag over the exhaust pipe...well, after listening to the poor thing quack for 40 minutes, I couldn't stand it anymore and released in our small garden shed until my boyfriend could get back in town and do the honors.
Every time I opened that shed door to give it food and water, it would go berserk (understandably so) Anyways, after taking a ribbing from my guy about how soft-hearted I was, HE opens the shed door to get a look at it. It started waddling towards him, until I peeked around his shoulder at which point it battered the wall trying to get away.
We finally donated it to an aquaintance who had ducks and geese, but that was the one and only time I've ever tried that method of dispatching a critter.
Who knows, though, maybe rabbits aren't as tough as ducks? If I had to do it again, I think I'd try a quick snap of the neck.
The perverbial karate chop while holding it in you nondominant hand. Quick, instantly no bruising either.
I wondered when we'd get to an honest answer without the EPA knocking on our doors. Simply hold the rabbit by its back legs. When it calms down, the sharp chop to the back of the head quickly and humanely dispatches the rabbit with no muss, no fuss, and don't stain the sheets. Make sure it's a SHARP whack however. Domestic rabbits are tougher than their cottontail cousins.
To me, the easiest and most humane way is to drown it. Theres no damage from struggling, and I feel its most humane. It might sound funny here, but this is out of respect for the animals dignity.
The most humane way is to electrocute it. I do this to all of the pen
raised birds that I buy and mount. You will need a couple of
alligator clips and an electric cord. Just split the end of the cord
and attach the clips to each side. Use a little electrical tape to
attach the clips when you splice the wires.
Fasten one clip to the inner lip of the rabbit and the other end to
it's anus. Then plug it in. It will only take a second or two. You
can hold the animal when you do this and not get shocked. Just make
sure you are not touching both clips at the same time when you plug
it in.
This method is fast, painless, humane, cheap, and fun! Bubba
You'd better look up "humane". Drowning don't sound very exciting to me. LOL I think I'd rather have a quickly broken neck. And all this time I thought you were a country boy.
Whens the last time you saw an animal die of a broken neck? They just sit there and look at you. Bubba is probably right, the electric is gonna be the most humane, but hes not gonna talk ME into holding that thing while doing it! Im not set up for zapping them, though. Ill tell ya, a minute in the drink and theres NO damage, no chance of knocking hair off them, and no damage from struggling. Im dipping em. I guess they all work, though!
There are 3 options.
1) Take it to the vet and have the vet put it to sleep. This is the legal method.
2) Gas it. "Air Duster" and carbon dioxide work equally well, but the duster is SOOOO fast [10 seconds - wrap bunny's head in a plastic bag and use the little nozzle thing to spray into the bag .. hold bag and rabbit .. ]!
3) The most painful, inhumane, evil way: Inject AIR (or whatever else the dorks recommended, acetone?!) into the lungs. All you need to do is inject -something- into the pleural space to defeat the negative pressure of breathing. Ask anyone who's ever had a pneumothorax or chest tube how painful this is.
Hope that helped ..
Dynamite! This is by far THE BEST WAY TO KILL A RABBIT. It will work so good that you probably won't even be able to find it after you kill it.

Those ideas are, provoacative, informative, legislative, jussive, irrespective, and, oh yeah, effective. rw lol
The best way to kill a rabbit is a shot to the head with a pellet gun, but make sure u hit the brain or the rabit will scream with pain which is very loud and annoying
the best way to dispose of a rabbit ruinning your garden is to trap him and kill him, don't bother with all those pellets and sound makers cause they don't work. its best to go out and buy a live trap and bait it with an apple
