I have just used Ear Openers for the first time. It worked like a champ on the back of the ears but the front kicked my butt. Can someone give me advice or recommend a good video.

I think you lost me there.They worked on the back, but not on the front?
The ear opener is to do just that "To Open the Ear". Its not used to remove the Cartilige, if thats what you're trying to use it for.
To remove them, split the cartilige in half (Haorzontally). Take the one half with your fingers and peel up twards the tip of the ear, Do the same to the botton half, peeling to the ear butts. Remove the carlilige, leaving the butt on the ear.
