Well I caught a skunk in my cage trap. I took it to a pond and put trap and all in the water. No spray at all now it's in my freezer. Someone suggested freezing it before skinning and it made sense to me so that's the way I'm headding. Wish me luck!

1 qt Hydrogen peroxide (from the drug store)
1/4 cup baking soda
1tsp. liquid dish soap
You might want to mix up a batch of this before you start skinning. This stuff will
ELIMINATE, (not just cover up) any skunk related issues you might run across. It
will cost you less than a dollar. I wash the pelt in it when I'm done. Makes em soft
a shinny.
Personally, I would thaw it out before starting. I've tried that frozen thing and it just
complicated the process.
