Help! I Used Up All of My retarder!

Submitted by Craig on 10/27/01. ( penquin1@aol.com ) 206.150.228.62

I dropped and spilled all of my Polytranspar Retarder. Since I like to thin down all off my Polytranspar paints with it I am stuck. And I have a fish that I would like to complete this weekend.

My question is this. I've noticed a pecular smell with the retarder but I can't put my finger on what it is. I was wondering if it was just something I could buy at Wal-mart till I can it from WASCO? Thanks.

Walmart may carry it but check out your local craft or art store. They have products their that will help you out.

A Auto paint store would have laq. retarder, but wal mart does not sell anything that will work. Call a body shop and maybe they can help since many body men work on weekends.

This is for the waterbased paints.

This is for the waterbase paints. Will Lacqur retarder still work?

That retarder is retarder. Same stuff works for laquer or water based paints. And this came directly from a paint manufacturer.I have not run into any trouble yet.

Retarder is Retarder.Check Sherwin Williams, NAPA, ACE, or any automotive paint distributor.

Thank you so much. I know a parts store that is open tomorrow. It is kinda funny how you get used to things. I tried using water to thin down my paint and it just wasn't the same. Thanks again.
