Ear turning - cartilage attached.

Submitted by Daryle H. on 10/29/01. ( ) 24.207.14.130

I have read many descriptions and seen numerous photos of deer ears
being turned, but still don't quite get the picture.I want to leave
the cartilage attached and use the bonded ear method. My question is
this, when the ears are turned (skin on backside separated from the
cartilage) is the skin supposed to be left attached on the inside of
the ear to the cartilage? If the skin is separated on both sides
wouldn't the cartilage be completely separated from the skin?
Thanks, for your help. I am hoping a few words will be better than a
thousand pictures.

Its just like turning a glove inside out.

Leave cartlidge attached to the inside skin.

Everything I ever read about bondo ears says to leave it attached. Yes Bondo can work as well in commercial class deer as earliners. Use Bondo Hair for them. they will never curl and could be lethal if needed.

hey dude i have found that turning the ears and removing the cartlidge and using a plastic earliner(mcinzie natra look liners)
make the best looking ears it takes a little more time but its worth it,if you want a great looking mount.
