Hi everyone
Last weekend I mounted my first blk bear and now thats its dried I don't like how the eyes are set. So my question is How can I soften up the critter clay in order to reposition the eyes? I thought about using a wet wash cloth and lay it over the eyes but wasn't sure if that would damage the eyelids. Or will critter clay even soften up once it has dried? Thanks and everyone have a great weekend.

Hey John, you are on the right track. I generally dampen the area with a spray bottle a little, lay wet papertowels on the area and then wrap with plastic. The plastic holds the moisture in so it can soften the hide and clay. The length of time varies, I've had hides soften up in a couple of hours or sometimes over night. But you can soften the hide and clay to do this. GOOD LUCK.
Last weekend, eh? that would be 5 or 6 days drying time, No it is not dry, two weeks maybe.
Now use a little Rittels Super Relaxer ant it will soften the hide and clay right up. Sweet like Aaron say in a plastic bag
