My 12 year old got his first elk this year. Was a beautiful 5 point. Would have loved to have mounted the head but limited on funds. Can anyone tell me how to mount the horns? What kind of padding do I use? Don't have a clue...
Check here on-line in the WASCO catolog Van Dykes etc and they will help you out. Or give them a call and ask for what antler form to use and how instuctions.
It's hard to respond in any detail using this forum. In short, mount horns in antler block, round it out with mache, use 1/4 inch foam over mache, and cover the whole thing in leather. Attach to panel.
