I was wondering how long a hide needs to be covered with salt before it can be rewetted or stored until a later time. Also is it possible to reuse the salt on future hides? Thanks for the input.

i am no expert but i have spent countless hours searching through the archives. what i have found is to salt for 24 hrs re salt for another 24 hrs, then let dry until completly hard. i dont think you want to re-use salt. if you click on the search button to your left you will find a ton of information.
Chris, double salt and let dry hard. Don't reuse salt, its cheap 50lb bag at feed store $4 to $6 dollars. 48 hours of heavy salt than let hang to dry.
