Hi smurf, I can offer only limited advice for you but I hope it helps.
I've only done one scorpion in my short, novice base building time.
It was for an Impala scull mount I did for a friend. I used an Emperor
scorpion (big and juicy) and had no idea how to preserve it. On a tip
from this site and my own ideas I came up with an elaborate thread
jig to hold the bug in the desired position( you may need to pin it
through the middle to support the body so it wont sag )You can position it any way you want to with thread from above if you pin the
legs in place first. Dont worry if the exoscelatal legs crack fix them
later. Once in place on your mount, coat the leg and body joints with
super glue (several coats, allow to dry between ) Once the bug will
stand free of the thread and is rigid to touch simply paint to original colors( carefull of the fine hairs, don't break them.)
The glue from the legs will run down and glue the bug in place. To pull the leg pins twist before you pull the to break them free of
the glue. Touch up the legs and base with paint and whatever the base
material is . Good luck, hope I could help.
P.S. Tie the treads at the joints so you can cut them short and paint
them later, they will be glued in and impossible to remove.
P.P.S. Don,t glue the underside so it can dry over time. The one I did
is over a year old now and looks perfect.
