bruised hide

Hello:
I am working on a hide from a deer that was wounded by an arrow and then died after being hit by a car. The de-haired hide shows an area that has a red cast as if there is blood within the skin from the inpact with the car. The question is, how will this affect the buckskin tanned product. (I'm going to use a Lutan-F kit from WASCO.
Thanks, Gerhard

The leather should be treated!

Unless you treat the leather with something like our Rittel's Blood-Eater product - the stain will remain. This particular product is used for such purposes in leather Tanneries. It removes stains and blood from the leather before its tanned. If you'd like more info - E-Mail me at Rittel@mindspring.com

Hide is Still Fresh

Thanks, Bruce:
The note with the product says to be used in the rehydration soak. This hide is still fresh, what would be the procedure? Should it be dried and then rehydrated?
