getting correct measurements

i recently had a client bring in a deer he wanted mounted and the neck had been taken off perfectly even behind the ears! i mean there was not anything left to measure. can you experienced people give me some pointers on how to get the correct measurements i need for a correct manikin fit.

Spread the cape out and using a rulers measure the depth.

example is 8inches x 2=16 Or buy a few forms and test for them. This is pretty simple and is cover in many videos and BOOKS.

Measure cape from inside right behind the turned ears. If it is a short incison, put the 2 sides together (still on inside) and measure and then double the measurement.You can do the same 4 inches down. I always go 1 size smaller when measuring this way and has always worked!
