I'm just starting into taxidermy. I'm in the process of doing my first antler mount, and already I'm hooked. I sent in for the WASCO Catalog, just to see what's out there as far as tools, and such go, Maybe I'll need it for a mount later on in this hobby. Anyway, I was wondering about books. The books I was looking at were WASCO, and "The Break through to....". What are some good books for beginners (whitetail deer and Birds), or what books you have had good luck with? Thanks

Hello MB,
I would suggest that you start with videos, along with reading books. I started with a seven video tape course from WASCO. The course is somewhat old but very informative. Sallie Dahmes shows everything from first laying your hands on the deer head to finishing.
The name of the course is "Serious Sportsman Taxidermy for Beginners with Sally Dahmes and Bob Elzner. WASCO's number is:1-800-334-8012
Good Luck,
Sean
