degreasers

I''m not exactly a beginner overall, but I do little skull work. I usually use white gas to degrease skulls, but would feel safer using a water based degreaser. I have had lousy luck with such products in that they nearly desolve fish skins I have attempted to degrease, and I don't want the same problem with skulls deteriorating. I have Bolmans Grease Buster, and some Kemel 4 on the shelf. I would just as soon use this stuff up verses buying yet another degreasing product product specifically labeled as skull degreaser. (Research Mannikins carries this degreaser as a powder) Any advice would be appreciated on whether either the Bolmans Grease Buster or Kemel 4 would work on skulls, in what strength and for how long a soak. Thanks a lot!

I have never lost any fish skin to any degreaser, when I followed directions. NEVER!

Now get soem of the before mentioned degreasers and try them, you let us know the results yu get and the directions that you follow. Many degreasers have directions on the bottle. I personally like Rittels SUPER SOLVENT as the #1 water based and NEWTON Adhesives solvent for #2.

In additon I will ad that I use 3% H2O2 from walmart for most of the whitening and residual cartlidge removal. IT takes a couple days but is safer than the 40% H2O2.
