I am just getting ready to try some tanning and I was wandering if
you can just mix warm water and salt for a pickling solution or do
you need to mix acid into the solution. If it depends on what
tanning agent you are using I was going to try Rittels ez-100

Also do you need to keep salt in an airtight container I wasnt sure ]
because it seems like if you didnt the moisture would get to it.

Please feel free to give any suggestions as you can see I need some
help. Thanks

To pickle you must have an acid solution!Rittel's safe-t-acid is what I highly rec.. When I first started tanning I thought that I was smarter than the directoins on the package and skipped everything and went right to the tanning. Whats worse is that I started on Beavers that were not shaved down and I used chrome tan. Total failure,Save youself and cotact Bruce at Rittel@mindspring.com . Tell him what you plan to tan and he will get you on the right path. Have fun!
