Seam Covering

Submitted by Neil on 11/28/01. ( jeffneilo@aol.com ) 208.47.92.58

I need advice on covering the seam in the back of my fish skin mounts. Is there anything cheaper than epoxy to use like bondo? I'm just beginning and any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Neil

Epoxy works too nice

In the long run, I believe the epoxy will prove it's worth next to the cheaper bondo. It'll outlast it and that seems worth the extra investment to me. But that's just my outlook on it. What epoxy are you using? Magic Smooth is less than some at $12 a 16 oz kit. But I don't know what "cheaper" is to you either.

Good luck to you and start out right!

caulk

If your carving your own bodies your seams should be tight and closed together. I use clear acrylic caulk. It covers it nice and it's cheap.
