Ingriedent for degreaser ?

Does anyone have a recipe for a degreaser to be used for beaver, bear etc. I know some use gasoline and or latern fuel. I've been taught to use laquer thinner (Van Dyke video) on my whitetail deer ears before mounting. Now I use rubbing alcohol (a little cheaper and safer) as an aid to degrease them and to disapate moisture before blow drying and inserting ear liners. I do not feel confident with what is offered on the market. Ive tried most and think most are a waste of money.

Epo Grip or Rittels Super Solvent.
Think the degreaser on whitetail is overkill.

CT,
It sounds to me that you're talking about 2 different things.
To degrease Beaver, Bear, fox etc., Big Al is right. Eliminator/DeGreaaser is a good product.
But for the ears....are you trying to get the tanning oils off the skin so as to get adhesion for your ear liners? If so, you're already doing it correctly. The Eliminator/DeGreaser isn't designed for this.

Have a good day,
Dave

Yeh...you can stick with the laquer thinner on the ears!

the water. I rehydrate my capes, sweat, remeasure, then freeze. WHen the stuff arrives, I thaw (er, unfreeze) the cape and mount. The ear skin is wet enough that the bondo (what I use) doesn't adhere as well as if I spray the ear skin down well with laquer thinner, pat dry and go to work. The thinner helps carry off any excess water in the skin.
