Ever use Curatan?

Submitted by Chad on 11/30/01. ( ) 216.74.202.24

I purchased a Curatan kit for mounting my first deer. The instructions say to let dry ,hair side out,for two hours before mounting. Will the cape be dry by this time? Does it hurt to let it dry for a day? Thanks for your help,
Chad

I have been useing CURATAN for years and have had exellent results. After you warm up the solution, paint this on with a brush. Be sure and keep stirring this while you are useing it as it settles out quickly. I usually fold the cape or hide up and let sit overnight or 4 hours min. depending on your situation. Above all-- I hope you thinned down the cape properly. If you did not , do this first. There is no tan out there that will do a good job on taxidermy skins if the skin is not properly preped. I now use Liqua tan and the result are very simular to Curatan, IN MY OPINION. You can also freeze the hide after you apply tan or dry it out competly . Have done both and works. If you have further ? please E-mail me. Good luck , Brad
