Lee, You can do it with no seam, but you have to cut the antlers off of the skull first and then cape like normal. You need to be real careful to not cut the hair around the burr when you saw them off. Then just mount it with the pin system and put the antlers on after you get the cape in place. Good Luck!

ok how do i mount them

Use pin system

Lee, The taxidermy catalogs all have a pin system with male and female parts. This is a piece of square stock steel which fits into the square "sleeve". You can use the original skull and drill out a hole for the female sleeve and set it. Then drill a hole in the end of the antler and attach the male part. You need to take some measurements of the rack before you cut the antlers off so you can get them back at the correct angle. Lots of folks use this pin system for elk so that they can take the antlers off and get the critter through the door. You won't need one that big though for a deer. Hope that helps!

cut it - sew it

Save yourself time and money. Cut it with a short incision and sew it up. Anything else is gonna take you more time and probably more money.

Lot of Work....
