Anyone use the tanning crystals? If so what shouldn't they be used on, Is it mostly used on smaller mammals? just looking around thanks for any info.

original alum based crystals that came with the auto tanner? I use both, alum for pretan,. and arrowhead for finish tan after fleshing, degreasing etc. THey work on anything from a squirrel to a moose. The biggest difference I see is the arrowhead being more time sensitive, leave it too long and your stretch is gone. But both work on about anything.
what is the best way to tan a deer hide(hair on). the customer said he doesnt expect it to be super soft, but i would like to give him a nice hide back.
