the same thing happened to my dad a few years back. i kept telling him he should go talk to the sheriff, he never did then i thought his mounts were gone forever. then the same taxidermist did it to another guy but this guy went to the sheriff. after the word got out all these people had the same done to them. most of the mounts were done and sitting in the guys basement, they were handed to there rightful owners and the taxidermist was thrown in the clink. hope this helps. oh yea, it wasn't in texas, it was in minnesota

The idiot that took your money and animals was disguising himself as taxidermist. I hope you catch the lowlife and they get what they deserve. People like that are the ones that give the proffesion a bad name.

Around here, it's called

Deprivation of property. If it's yours and you want it back, even though he curently possesses it with your consent, he is required to return it to you upon your request or, at the very least, be able to provide a satisfactory reason why he cannot, i.e., it's only half finished but will be done in two weeks. For him to have it finished and still not provided it back to you is, in Kansas, a criminal act. At the very least, you and your associates need to make sure word of his antics gets around. he gives u all a black eye. He's not a taxidermist, but he might be a procrastinator, a thief, a liar, a poor budgeter of time, and so forth. But he's going to have to try a little harder to be a businessman.
