First squirrel attempt

Hi, I made the mistake of freezing my specimine wet. Will I reduce my chance of slippage if I cool-air dry it? Also, My WASCO instructions tell me to dump my puffed borax in a pan without any other instruction. I have dry perservative, what's the purpose of the borax?
Thank You,
Rod

Puffed Borax

Hi Rod,

The puffed borax in the pan gives you a nice bed to skin your speciomen in. It will absorb blood and body fluids to keep your specimen clean, it will absorb moisture and grease to improve your grip and keep your hands and tools clean, and since borax is a naural preservative, it will begin to preserve your specimen as you skin, reducing the chance of hair slippage.

If you have any more questions which require an immediate answer, you can call Rick Carter at WASCO at 1-800-334-8012.
