Cold weather tumbling

My tumbler is in my garage and we've just got a cold spell. -20.
It's a rather large unit. 45gal drum, and I have an elk hide that has had an application of Liquatan. It is now mostly absorbed and now I want to apply the Luquasoft to it and tumble to break it down.
Is it OK to do this in such a cold temperature. How long will it take ?

Too cold

Way too cold for any penetration of oil. Bring hide in the house, let it get to room temp., heat oil in nuker, then apply. Let it soak in for a day or 2 until hide starts to dry out around the edges a little. Then start pulling on it by hand to soften. A 45-50 gal barrel will not have enough drop to work an elk hide enough to soften it. It may work OK for a cape though.
-20 huh? Shouldn't have any problem with moisture!
