I've JUST started practicing taxidermy for about a week now. I started with some deer heads from the local meat market to practice skinning and skull prep.
Well, today my wife brought me home a pretty mangled rabbit....roadkill. Her heart is in the right place, but the rabbits parts aren't....this things is crushed....The body is in good condition (save for a missing patch) but the head is crushed. I was hoping to do something with the feet. Could anyone help me out here? I can't find any forums that discuss rabbits feet.
Can I get away without skinning them? What other ideas do any of you genius' have that maybe I could do with the remains of this poor bunny. All help is most appreciated!

Sounds like you'd put a screendoor on a submarine. Win friends and influence enemies. LOL. Skin the rabbit. It'll be a great way to begin. You'll be seeing more of the same in years to come anyway. And to answer you question, SKIN IT OUT. There's no secret potion or injection to use on ANYTHING in taxidermy. If you don't want to do it right, you have to become an undertaker. They can teach you about injecting and pumping dead things up so they don't rot quickly.
and all the other tons of great ideas that everyone gave me that I could use that mushed rabbit for (insert sarcasm here). I just skinned the sucker & started to mess with the feet but there's slippage so I've got other specimens to practice on. Thanks again!
