I am just getting started doing taxidermy on whitetail deer. I have read a few books and watched a couple of videos. I feel that I can watch a hundred videos and read a hundred books but its not going to work unless I try doing my first deer. My cousin shot a buck this year and we caped it out and sent it to be tanned so i am getting ready to start. Before I start to order supplies, I was wondering if someone could give me on advice on things to buy now and other things that I could hold off on. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you have read a few books and watched a few videos they should have given you an idea of what you will need to do your deer. My advice is to get it all at once because it is a pain if you don't have it when you need it. I myself am a begginer and I like to jump right in with both feet and maybe fall down a couple of times, thats how I learn best. Keep those books and videos handy for when you fall and they will give the help you need to get back up. Good Luck and most importantly have fun.
Thanks for the advice.
