Can anyone tell me what the term wet tanned means

I see a lot of capes and furs for sale for mounts that say
they are WET TANNED? But what Is a WET TAN?

Just that its wet.

Its wet, it was not dried at the tannery. Its tanned oiled then frozen and shipped from the tannery in the frozen state.

I didn't remember it. I found the Post It note I'd written the original own. My problems multiply when I can't remember where I put the Post It. LOL
