Where do most people get pelts and capes? Animals that they have shot and or trapped? Friends? Ordered?

We get them from all those places and then some. The best source, for me, is from taxidermists that I have met along the way. If I need something I pick up the phone, if it's out there I will generally find it within a few days. This kind of networking takes time. If you are a newcomer to the business, this may be the best place for you to find what you need or want.
I am looking to tan a hide. Where do I start to learn how to do this?
