Deer Feet for a Gun Rack...

Submitted by Darrell on 2/13/02. ( Darrell976@aol.com ) 64.12.96.43

Hi, I am just beginning taxidermy and I want to start with the simple projects. I plan to follow the booklet course that I bought from WASCO. They recommend that I start with booklet one and do all the projects up to booklet seven. I want to do this, but I need some deer feet for the gun rack. Do any of you know where I can get some feet this time of year? I don't want to wait until deer season rolls around again because I want to move on to other projects before then. Ultimately, I my goal is to mount my own deer if I kill one this fall. If you can help me out it will be much appreciated. Thanks!

Meat processing

I just started about 1 month ago and I called a couple of local meat processing plants. To my surprise they were able to hook me up with a couple of deer heads but no legs. The only legs I could get were some lamb. But never the less I was able to practice and gain SOME experience when practicing skinning & fleshing on the heads and legs. You never know what they have there. They often get ostrich's, wild boars, emu's, goats, lamb, & of course deer. Good luck

I found someone with the feet I need.
