Shipping hides and capes

Submitted by Gary on 2/13/02. ( ) 64.12.96.71

Is it required to list all the species and number of species on the outside of the box or container when shipping them to the tannery? Is this applicable to certain species only?

Thanks in advance!

Check with your tanner on how they like it. I would list on the box and or on a piece of paper inside so they know what is sent.

Not a problem

I know of no shipper that requires you do that when shipping from one point inside the country to another. Now, shipping over international boundaries is another thing altogether. I do print my shipping label on my PC and at the bottom I put something to the effect of "Contents: Salted hides. may produce loose salt granules." In the evnt salt or powder slips out of a corner on the box, your hides aren't held up in some quarantine.

I place this on 5 sides of the box. You will never have a problem.
