WHAT IS A CASE SKINNED CAPE?IS IT CUT ALL THE WAY DOWN THE DORSAL OR IS IT TUBE SKINNED WITH A SMALL INCISION TO REMOVE THE ANTLERS.
Return to Beginners Category Menu
Case skinned refers to fur skins. The cut is across the inside of the back legs and the skin is tubed. Tis is how they are prepared for the fur trade.
NOT split all the way down the back of the neck....
there are many incisions that can be used...i.e.,
(the "7", short "Y", "T", modified "T". etc.)
Obviousely saves time sewing, but you trade off struggling
to pull the cape on the form!
