whitetail's ears are turning a dark grayish black

I need some advice..... I have a whitetail cape in the freezer that
has been fleshed, clean, and pickled. I did use bacteriacide when I
degreased the cape.
My problem is I took it out of the freezer to prepare it for tanning
and the tips of the ears are turning color. It is a dark grayish
black color. The hair seems to be still intact. I returned the cape
to the freezer. Is it possible to still save this cape?

Freezer burn.

No big deal it will wet back easily in the tan.
