I was just wondering why everything I read says that opossum have black eyes? That's not true, does anyone know what color they really are, I know because I kept one last weekend after the neighborhood cats took the end of it's tail off, put some deep scratches in my cages too before i released the little monster. Just wondering if anyone else noticed they are very dark brown and not black?

Only in very stong lite. in the shade they are black
i think black is more impressive on this critter. the customer will never know (or care) the difference. now competition may be different story.
