how to fix crack in edge of nostril?

Submitted by Wade on 3/13/02. ( ) 207.136.21.18

Got a mount on the wall here and I noticed the other day that the
nose has a small crack in it. Not in the nose pad but on the edge of
the nostril. How's the best way to fix this?

Let a pro fix it.

Unless you have the paints and epoxies to do the job correctly, call a pro set a date for drop off and a date for pickup. This is usually something that can be fixed as time allows without through the schedule of th studio ointo chaos.

If you are not a taxidermist or taxidermist wantta be - do just as John told you, leave it to someone who is. If this is a head that you mounted and need to correct an issue, first off, it is best to sew these holes before you mount it (you porbably know that now). To fix after mounting it use epoxy - scaulp all or something like that. If it is an area with the fine hair, you can replace that with flocking. look in Van Dykes or Rhineharts - they sell a flocking gun and flocking. After the flocking is dry paint the area and hair to match the surrounding area.
