I have a paint schedule for finishing a deer's nose that I want to try. It consists of basecoat sealer, then flesh over the entire nose and bottom lip followed by a dark brown, one nodule at a time getting progressively lighter as you go down. Then to give the nose a soft grayish look, another coat of basecoat sealer with a couple drops of white added to the sealer followed by gloss. My problem is I have some basecoat sealer that I bought with Lifetone laquers but I am going to try Wildlife waterbase paints. I know from reading in the archives you can't mix waterbase and laquer but you can layer them so long as you let each coat dry first. My question is about the basecoat sealer. Can I mix my waterbase white with it or is the sealer only going to be compatable with laquers? I wasn't sure exactly what basecoat sealer consists of and whether it's universal or not. Thanks!

The sealer on a deers nose is not critical. Jut let eas layer dry.
1. Waterbase dried, then layer lacquer, let dry etc. Just layer what colors you want, so long as ecah layer is dry before applying the next. BRANDS DONT MATER EITHER.
