When can I stop?

Submitted by Red Brit on 3/19/02. ( ) 209.43.54.244

At the momment skinning seems to take a couple of hours and its usually late in the evening by the time I finish. Do I have to flesh the skin before I can freeze it to come back to in a couple of days? And is it OK to put borax on or should I use salt? Or does it depend on whether I am going to dry preserve it for a mount or tan it for a skin. Also am I supposed to rehydrate, if so what do I do?
Apologies for so many questions but I would really appreciate any response. Thank you.

Just freeze it.

Never put anything on a hide that's going into the freeze, ESPECIALLY SALT. Next time you take it out, be prepared to finish the job. Refreezing and thawing only invites big trouble.

FREEZE
